This stunning rose still life was one of the two paintings Van Gogh made in 1890 during his time at the "asylum" at Saint Remy. His rose paintings from that time are significant for their vibrant colors and representation of Van Gogh's emotional state at the time; feelings attributed to peace, optimism, and renewal of hope, as his emotional health improved.

This painting is known to have originally featured bright pink roses against the green background. Over time, however, the roses faded to a very pale, barely-even-there pink. In honor of this knowledge, this exclusive, one-of-a-kind edition features restored subtle, restored coloring - pink tones have been carefully, subtly, crafted back in.

The outcome is magnificent- the green background is enhanced by the compliment of the rose-pink tones.

Framed in natural oak, custom matted, and printed on fine art textured German etching paper - a special, textured paper that enhances the textural look of Van Gogh's thick paint application.
